Former prime ministers Tony Blair and John Major are to headline a rally for a confirmatory Brexit referendum this evening.
The intervention in the general election campaign has been touted by organisers as “a full-throated roar of defiance against the prospect of Boris Johnson getting total power.”
The rally will take place just hours before Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn face-off in the final TV debate of the election campaign.
As a former Conservative prime minister, John Major’s message at the rally could be significant. Boris Johnson’s Conservatives are against any further public votes and are pressing ahead with the revised deal he secured in October.
