Talks between the government and Labour were paused before Easter

Talks between the government and Labour to break the Brexit deadlock are due to resume today.

David Lidington and Steve Barclay are expected to meet Labour’s Keir Starmer and Rebecca Long-Bailey.

While Tuesday’s meeting is confirmed, the government has yet to present Labour with a compromise proposal.

Previous meetings have included discussion on customs arrangements, single market alignment, agencies and programmes, security, legal underpinning of agreements and a public confirmatory vote.

The talks were paused before Easter.
