Key questions expected to remain unanswered as Michael Gove visits business leaders.

The government will publish its latest guidance on border controls for Northern Irish businesses tomorrow. Michael Gove, the minister charged with planning for the end of the UK-EU transition period on 31st December, will also visit the region on Friday.

The ministerial visit and new guidance comes amid warnings from Northern Irish business leaders that they will have little time to prepare for changes at the end of the year.

Key questions over the new protocol, expected to come into place at the end of the transition period, are expected to remain unanswered for several more weeks. It is still unknown whether exit summary declarations will be
required when goods are exported from Northern Ireland to Great Britain.
