Right-wing gossip blog has Twitter account suspended.
The right-wing gossip blog Guido Fawkes had its Twitter account suspended briefly on Saturday night.
Users trying to access the account were told it no longer existed. The account is followed by over 300,000 users.
An account associated with the blog, @MediaGuido, claimed the suspension related to Twitter’s age verification policies.
@MediaGuido implied the Guido Fawkes account owner had changed its ‘birthday’ to the date the Guido Fawkes website was founded in 2004. This would mean the account belonged to a ’16-year-old’.
Twitter currently requires its users to be at least 13.
Guido Fawkes’ account was restored by Twitter within hours.
