Keir Starmer, Labour’s shadow Brexit secretary, has kicked off his bid to be the party’s next leader.

Starmer has set the theme of his leadership campaign by proclaiming “another future is possible – for our country and our party”.

The MP for Holborn and St Pancras and former director of public prosecutions has called on Labour supporters to join him “in taking the fight to the Tories.”

I believe another future is possible.

I believe another future is possible – but we have to fight for it. That’s why I’m standing to be leader of the Labour Party. Join me and together we can – and we will – win: keirstarmer.com
