Labour manifesto waters down goal endorsed by party’s annual conference.
The Labour Party has dropped a policy of aiming for net zero carbon emissions by 2030 from its upcoming manifesto.
The policy, passed at the party’s annual conference in September, has been replaced by an ambition to achieve the goal ‘as soon as possible’.
The Labour manifesto will be launched at an event in Birmingham on Thursday.
