Growth in construction offsets further decline in manufacturing in Q3 2019.

The UK economy grew by 0.0% in the final quarter of 2019, according to the ONS. Services were also stagnant at 0%.

Production, including manufacturing, was down 1%. Construction grew by 1.4%.

The chancellor Rishi Sunak will deliver the government’s budget today, as the Bank of England cut the interest rate from 0.75% to 0.2%.
